Welcome to Gambaga College of Education (GACoE)

Brief overview of the College:

The people of Mamprugu led by the Nayiri Naa Bohugu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga and the East Mamprusi District Assembly led By former D.C.E Hon Adam Imoro laid foundation for the establishment of this noble institution in 2012 as a community college of Education. The college is one of the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana located at Gambaga in the Northern Region.
The college had its accreditation in 2013 and is affiliated to the university of Cape Coast for purposes of external assessment of students and award of Diploma in Basic Education( DBE) certificate to qualified persons.

Gambaga College of Education is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and University for Development Studies (UDS). The college is affiliated to both universities for purposes of external assessment of students and award of Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) certificate and Bachelors degrees to qualified persons.

Courses Offered:

At present, GACOE runs the General programme (Diploma in Basic Education, DBE) and 4-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programmes. The B.Ed courses offered include; Mathematics and ICT option, Social Studies and RME option, Social Studies and Music option, Early Grade and Primary Education option.

Sale of Admission Forms:

Unless otherwise directed by the college, admission forms are usually purchased from the Colleges of Education website and could be paid for using mobile money account

Sandwich Courses are also available for students who wish to top-up their Diploma to obtain a Degree in Basic Education. Certificate and Diploma courses are also available. These courses are offered in collaboration with UDS and hence the admissions forms vouchers are sold in the same way as UDS admission forms are sold

Admission Requirements:

As determined by the National Accreditation Board (NAB), the following entry requirements are considered for offer of admission into the college:

Grades A1 to C6 in six WASSE subjects, including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three elective subjects.
